Training should be enjoyable with these quick and easy learners. Clipping by a professional every eight or so months is also advised. There is also the hair, which needs to be often and carefully brushed. Sheepadoodles are somewhat high maintenance and require daily long walks (or even better: jogs) as to keep them from being too playful in the home. Train them early, however, or they may misdirect their energy later in life, and their size can make for a frustration if they are not trained to behave. Other pets and the friends that may come over unannounced should pose no problem for this breed. They get along great with kids and they love to play or just hang out with their owners. There are fewer even-tempered dogs than the Sheepadoodle.
There are, however, specially bred miniature Sheepadoodles that are no larger than about 15 inches high. They will appear far larger than their actual size due to their thick, shaggy coat. They are on the large size, maturing to about 70 pounds.
As pups, they are deceptively small as adults, they can be rather large if the Sheepdog genes predominate. Sheepadoodles are usually 24-30 inches in height. It is strongly recommended to get familiar with Old English Sheepdogs and Poodles if you are seeking to adopt a Sheepadoodle. Members of this breed have very few documented health problems. They should be trained early and solidly so as to keep them from being rambunctious, and along with very regular exercise.

The herding mentality of the Sheepdog and the proud attitude of the Poodle tend to be regularly found in most all Sheepadoodles. Not all the traits of the two breeds will be inherited by them - even those that come from the same litter. The Sheepadoodle is a hybrid of the Old English Sheepdog and the standard Poodle.
